We have discussed in our previous article the 5 skin care benefits that we can get from honey. It helps fight acne, it moisturizes and exfoliates our skin, and ultimately, it whitens and decreases the appearance of our scars. Today, we'll be showing you some of the organic ingredients that you can incorporate with honey to maximize the benefits. So, let's get started!

Super Moisturizing Mask
This is great for those who are suffering dull and dry skin. For this type of mask, we'll be using the following ingredients:
     ⦿  1 teaspoon of honey
⦿  1 teaspoon of coconut oil
⦿  1 teaspoon of mashed avocado.

avocado face maskJust a tip, you can use your fork to easily mash the avocado. So for the steps, all you need to do is to mix the ingredients thoroughly on a bowl. Then using your clean fingers, gently massage it to your face for about 1-2 minutes then let the concoction sit for maximum of 15 minutes. Wash it off with warm water then gently pat off with tissue. Using tissue instead of your regular face towel better absorbs and rids the excess coconut oil in your face which may cause your pores to clog.

Additional Tips:
You may want to steam your face first before you put your mask. This promotes better penetration of the vitamins and minerals. Also, as much as possible, use an organic type of honey, but you'll be fine with natural honey as well.

Brightening Face Mask
In this mask, we'll be adding two more super powerful ingredients when it comes to skin brightening, the yogurt and strawberry. The former is rich in lactic acid which is really good in exfoliation, hydration and it promotes smoother skin. On the other hand, strawberry is rich in vitamin B5 which brightens dull skin and helps reduce the appearance of acne scars.

 Here are the ingredients:
     ⦿  1 ripe, mashed strawberry
     ⦿  1 teaspoon of honey
     ⦿  1 teaspoon of yogurt

Simply concoct the three ingredients on a bowl and with your clean fingers, slather it on your face. Leave the concoction for 10-15 minutes until it dries completely. Using warm water, rinse it off while gently massaging it. Then splash your face with cold water.

Additional Tips:
Do not rub the mask too much on your face as the strawberry already contains exfoliating properties. It will only redden and irritate your face if you do it too much. To help calm your face after washing, wrap ice cubes on a piece of a clean cotton cloth then gently rub it on your face.

Goodbye Acne Mask
We have already discussed on our previous article the anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties of honey. Additionally, it also produces hydrogen peroxide and this particular compound is used as antiseptic. So to maximize the acne-fighting benefit of honey, here are the additional ingredients that you'll be needing:
egg lemon mask

     ⦿  1/2 small lemon
     ⦿  1 egg white

On a bowl, squeeze the lemon juice (make sure you remove the seeds) then add the honey and the egg white. Mix thoroughly  with a fork or with a whisk until you achieve a fluffy consistency. Then using your makeup brush or a cotton ball, apply it gently on your face. Leave the concoction for about 15 minutes then wash it off.

Additional Tip:
Because of the acidic nature of lemon, this
type of mask may sting to some. It's a natural sensation but if it's unbearable or you're irritated with the ingredient, you may consider to use less lemon or dilute the mask with water.

Honey Mask for Oily Skin
carrot honey mask for oily skinFor this type of mask, we'll be needing two ingredients:
     ⦿  2-3 carrots mashed
     ⦿  4 1/2 tablespoon of honey

Carrot is rich in vitamins A, C and potassium. Essentially, vitamins A and C are antioxidants. To do this, mix the ingredients thoroughly then massage the concoction for 1-2 minutes then leave it on your face for about 15 minutes. Wash it off.

Additional Tip:
It's better to refrigerate the mixture for 10 minutes before applying to face.

Simply Honey
Yes that's right! You can use honey independently and it can give you the benefits of hydration, whitening, acne solution and exfoliation even without the other ingredients. Basically, you will just apply this just like an ordinary beauty cream for face and leave it for 15 minutes. The good thing is you can leave it it for as long as you want for better vitamin and mineral penetration.
